Good Morning From The W Downtown

My daughter attended a bat mitzvah last night at Ellis Island.  We needed to be somewhere early this morning, so my original plan was to hang in the city until the boat got back and then drive home to Westchester.
Did I really need to get home that late and be that tired?  No!-I got myself a hotel room using 21,500 Starwood points at the W Downtown,  The hotel is a Category 6 property and only a “Spectacular Room” was available.  Above is the view out my window!  The room would have cost $350.

I spent the night relaxing, watching Netflix, and even dabbling in some mini bar snacks-an indulgence that is taboo when traveling with my family.  I didn’t even consider whether the value of my redeemed points was worth it.  It was a necessary, impromptu night in the city to save me from driving home at midnight, that is value enough for me!

I will be checking out shortly and will use my American Express Starwood Preferred Guest card for the balance of my bill.  I earn three (3) Starpoints on my incidental charges (like my potato chips ) because I am an SPG Gold member.  Can’t wait to see how much those chips cost….

A huge shout out to CINDY GREENSTEIN, aka The Points Mom, for helping me book our flights to Greece using points. Money wise it would have cost $12k. I learned so much from her! Contact her. You will not be disappointed.
