I will be 50 this coming May.  To celebrate, I am going to try to get to Wimbledon.  (Any tips? )  So I am off to London for 4 nights over July 4th weekend.  I booked Rob and I a stay at THE WALDORF HILTON, LONDON and it looks so nice!  I have actually never stayed at a Waldorf and I am excited.

I used a bunch of Hilton Honors points for the stay, actually 80,000 per night.  Also, I am not even following my own advice and getting the fifth night free. 🙁  But I can’t always make it the most efficient or economical in terms of value, and I had A LOT of Hilton Honors points from accumulation over the years and both Rob and I getting the American Express Hilton Honors Surpass card over the last 2 years with 100,000 point bonuses!  I actually still have a nice surplus and plan to book a stay in Burlington, VT for this summer.  If I am short there, I can always transfer American Express Membership Rewards points to my Hilton Honors account which now is even more appealing as the transfer ratio was just made 33% more attractive.

The room rate was 360 per night.  So the four nights would have cost $1,440.  Also, Rob and I will be living large each morning as now we can have complimentary breakfast at the hotel!  A big thanks to my American Express Business Platinum for providing me with Hilton Honors Gold Status and hence our free breakfast!

Looking forward to our trip!

A huge shout out to CINDY GREENSTEIN, aka The Points Mom, for helping me book our flights to Greece using points. Money wise it would have cost $12k. I learned so much from her! Contact her. You will not be disappointed.
