Airline and hotel status definitely makes travel so much more enjoyable. ????

On our recent trip to Thailand, Rob was really happy to be able to enter the Japan Airlines First Class Lounge because of his status on American that carried over to Japan Airlines because of an alliance between the two airlines. ????

It is the beginning of the year, so if you want status, you have a lot of time to secure it in 2024. ????️

Here are five ways that can help (other than flying and staying)…5️⃣

1. Obtain an airline or hotel credit card that can help you out throughout the year if you need it for status. Know that for status units, the spending is usually quite high, but it is an option. I usually use this option towards the end of the year to top me off. ✔️

2. Watch for email promotions from your loyalty programs with offers for extra nights or extra status miles for accomplishing certain tasks. ✔️

3. Watch for status match challenges. If you have status on one airline, the other airlines may try to woo you away to their own program by making u an offer. This offer usually requires some flying or spending. ✔️

4. Shop through the loyalty programs’ shopping portals. These purchases thru the portal can give you those extra status units you need to get you over the hump. ✔️

5. Ensure you earn the status units you want with partners. For example, when I booked our flights on Japan Airlines, I made sure to check the box to credit those flights to American Airlines, earning me those coveted AA loyalty points. Have a Hyatt stay? Make sure your Hyatt account is linked to your AA account, etc. ✔️

I can help you with your status plan. ????

A huge shout out to CINDY GREENSTEIN, aka The Points Mom, for helping me book our flights to Greece using points. Money wise it would have cost $12k. I learned so much from her! Contact her. You will not be disappointed.
