Our summer vacation last year was to Colorado. And guess what? We stayed for free on Starpoints at the Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa in Beaver Creek. This resort is a Starwood Preferred Guest Resort and a SPG Category 5.
We had a studio suite for about 16,000 starpoints per night. It would have cost conservatively about $300 per night (rates are less expensive in the summer). Also when you book 4 nights at a Starwood hotel, the 5th consecutive night is free, so we saved about $1,500. ($300 X 5 nights)
As for this hotel, the Westin Riverfront is amazing. The villas are new and modern as is the hotel. Rob says that the gym is the best one he has been to in any hotel. It is huge! The spa and pool are gorgeous and the lobby is a hot spot for live music even in the summer. It is located in Avon which has lots of restaurants, a supermarket, etc. and the hotel has a gondola that takes you to Beaver Creek Village.
We love it here and have stayed here many other times to ski. Rob will be staying there this coming MLK weekend on his annual weekend sky trip with our boys. I think Jessie and I are going to Austin. Will keep you posted!!
