images-3As you may know, last year there was a merger between American Airlines and US Airways.  You may be asking, how does this merger affect your AA AAdvantage accounts and your US Airways Dividend Miles accounts?

American Airlines plans to bring current Dividend Miles accounts into the AAdvantage program in 2015. This means if you have an account in both programs, AA will combine your award mileage balances from both programs.  Until then, the AAdvantage and Dividend Miles programs will continue to operate separately, but with AAdvantage member benefits when traveling on US Airways and US Airways Dividend Miles benefits when traveling on American Airlines.

In the meantime, you can continue to book travel, earn miles and manage your accounts on on the AA AAdvantage site and the US Airways Dividend Miles site as you normally would, and visit the merger page for up-to-date news.   You will be notified by AA/US Airways when they begin the process of integrating accounts.

A huge shout out to CINDY GREENSTEIN, aka The Points Mom, for helping me book our flights to Greece using points. Money wise it would have cost $12k. I learned so much from her! Contact her. You will not be disappointed.
