COVID UPDATE-All Elite members will now keep their current Status through March 31, 2023.

You are a Blue member when you join Hilton Honors.  In addition, Hilton Honors offers Silver, Gold, or Diamond Elite Status.  You are entitled to additional privileges and benefits with each level you reach.

The ways to reach Silver, Gold and Diamond Elite Status levels are as follows…

Silver Elite-you will be awarded Silver Elite membership if you have 4 stays or 10 nights earned during any calendar year.

Gold Elite-you will be awarded Gold Elite membership if you have 20 stays or 40 nights earned during any calendar year or earn 75,000 Honors Base Points in a calendar year.  Recall, Hilton Honors members earn ten base points for every dollar spent on room rate and other eligible room charges during a stay. You also get Gold status if you have an American Express Platinum Card or an  American Express Business Platinum Card.  Lastly, you can earn Gold status if you have an American Express Hilton Honors card and spend $20,000 on eligible purchases on your Card in a calendar year.  Then you can earn an upgrade to Hilton Honors Gold status through the end of the next calendar year

Diamond Elite-you will be awarded Diamond Elite membership if you have 30 stays or 60 nights earned during any calendar year or earn 120,000 Honors Base Points in a calendar year.  As above, recall, Hilton Honors members earn ten base points for every dollar spent on room rate and other eligible room charges during a stay.

Another way to possibly obtain Diamond status is by spending on your American Express Hilton Honors Surpass card.  If in any calendar year of Card Membership your total eligible purchases on your card reach $40,000, you will be upgraded to Hilton Honors Diamond status for the remainder of the calendar year in which Diamond status was earned through the end of the next calendar year.

Also, you will receive complimentary Hilton Honors Diamond status with the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card.

And as of March 2017, there is a new Diamond benefit that will allow you to extend your Diamond status for an additional year beyond when it would have otherwise expired, should you be unable to qualify for any reason.

In order to qualify for this benefit, you 1. must currently be a Diamond Member, 2. have earned Diamond status for at least 3 years, but the years do not need to be consecutive.
AND 3. Have completed stays totaling at least 250 nights, paid or reward

OR Have accumulated 500,000 Base Points (NOT BONUS POINTS) or more since joining Hilton Honors.

You may enact this benefit once throughout the lifetime of your membership.

There is also Hilton Diamond Lifetime Status that you can read about here.

A huge shout out to CINDY GREENSTEIN, aka The Points Mom, for helping me book our flights to Greece using points. Money wise it would have cost $12k. I learned so much from her! Contact her. You will not be disappointed.
