Covid Update-All members’ program status has been automatically extended through February 2023.

There is an updated program coming in March, 2022. Read about it here.

You are a Club member when you join IHG One Rewards. In addition, IHG Rewards Club offers Gold, Platinum or Spire Elite Status. You are entitled to additional privileges and benefits with each level you reach.

The ways to reach Gold, Platinum and Spire Elite Status levels are still reduced for Covid. So for now, those levels are as follows…

Gold-you must earn at least 7,000 Qualifying points during a calendar year or earn a minimum of 7 nights at Qualifying Rates during a calendar year.

Platinum-you must earn at least 30,000 Qualifying points during a calendar year or earned a minimum of 30 nights at Qualifying Rates during a calendar year.  In addition, you get Platinum Elite Status if you have a Chase IHG Rewards Club Select Card.

Spire-you must earn at least 55,000 Qualifying points during a calendar year or earned a minimum of 55 nights at Qualifying Rates during a calendar year.

Once a member earns Elite membership status in any calendar year, such status will be maintained through the end of the following calendar year.

Also know that because of covid, all members’ program status has been automatically extended through February 2023.

Other noteworthy items about IHG Elite Status

-Reward Nights used count as “nights” towards elite status.

-Some examples of “Qualifying Points” are points earned on paid stays (at qualifying rates-see below), points earned on your Chase credit card spend, and points earned on certain partner activity.  Qualifying rates are for example, non discounted rates.

It has also been reported that transfers from Chase Ultimate Rewards to IHG Rewards count as qualifying points, so a transfer of 75,000 Chase points could get you to Spire too.

-Elite Rollover Nights – At the end of the calendar year, qualifying nights in excess of 40 for Platinum Elite members or 75 for Spire Elite members will be counted toward the member’s Elite status qualification for the following calendar year. Elite Rollover Nights are only valid for one calendar year.

A huge shout out to CINDY GREENSTEIN, aka The Points Mom, for helping me book our flights to Greece using points. Money wise it would have cost $12k. I learned so much from her! Contact her. You will not be disappointed.
