Recall how excited I was last year when Rob hit Silver Medallion Status, and even more excited when Rob hit Gold Medallion Status. well now he has reached Platinum!

Rob had about 49,000 Delta MQMs carry forward from last year. He only needed 1000 more to get to 50,000 MQMs to make Gold and 26,000 more to make the 75,000 Platinum threshold. So again he took advantage of the same offer as last year and this time with a 25% bonus!

With his American Express Delta SkyMiles Platinum Rob took advantage of the Status Boost offer, an offer (still available today) in which the details are as follows:

You can earn 12,500 MQMs after you spend $25,000 in purchases on your Delta Platinum Card, up to two times. That’s 2,500 more MQMs than the 10,000 MQMs you usually earn when you spend $25,000 on the card.

Rob has some big advertising charges each month so spending the $50,000 on the card (for 25,000 MQMS) isn’t that difficult.

He already spent $25k and got his first 12,500 MQMs so that is what allowed him to hit Gold. He then spent another $25k and that extra 12,500 MQMs (along with a flight or 2) brought him beyond the 75,000 Platinum Requirement. Yay! All of this coupled with the MQD waiver (the MQDs requirement for Silver, Gold and Platinum status is waived if you make $25,000 or more in eligible purchases in that year with your card), helped Rob reach Platinum!

Note, the Status boost offer is also available with the Delta SkyMiles Reserve, Delta SkyMiles Reserve Business, and Delta SkyMiles Platinum Business card.

A huge shout out to CINDY GREENSTEIN, aka The Points Mom, for helping me book our flights to Greece using points. Money wise it would have cost $12k. I learned so much from her! Contact her. You will not be disappointed.
