Barclays Canceled Rob’s JetBlue Mastercard And It Was Totally My Fault!

I failed to follow my own advice and have paid the price.  Barclays has canceled Rob’s  JetBlue MasterCard for lack of activity.  I tell all of my clients to keep a small monthly charge on all of their no fee cards that sit in a drawer, or to remember to use them every so often.  I didn’t do either one of those things.  The only lucky thing for us was that I had already transferred much of Rob’s credit line to his Barclaycard Arrival Card, which Rob had previously downgraded to.   There was only a credit line of $1,000 when Barclays canceled the card.  So in terms of Rob’s credit score, it won’t be affected by a loss of a credit line, but will be slightly affected (temporarily) by the loss of an old account.

I will be taking my own advice in the future with respect to the cards that sit in the drawer.  I wish I would have the first time.

... I saved $700 in annual fees and scored 120,000 worth of bonus points. I also got $100 off a pair of fancy headphones and $200 worth of airline gift cards. ....

A huge shout out to CINDY GREENSTEIN, aka The Points Mom, for helping me book our flights to Greece using points. Money wise it would have cost $12k. I learned so much from her! Contact her. You will not be disappointed.
