You can now activate your 5% cash back/5 Ultimate Rewards points per $ spent (up to $1,500) in bonus categories on your Freedom and Freedom Flex cards.
You need to activate by September 14, 2022. Do that here- Get Your Bonus.
The 3rd quarter bonus categories are Gas Stations (yay will soften the blow on the high prices), Car Rental Agencies, Movie Theaters and on Select Live Entertainment.

REMEMBER-the 5x on these new categories does not start until July 1.
Don’t forget, if you switched your Amazon payment method to your Freedom OR Freedom Flex for the second quarter, the 5x is ending on June 30th when new 5x categories are rotated in.
Also, if you have hit the $1500 already in spend on Amazon, you should switch your Amazon payment method back to the card that you should be using for Amazon. (Most of you should know, but email me if u don’t).
How do you know if you hit the $1500 and are no longer getting 5x?
1. Log into Chase
2. Get to your Ultimate Rewards homepage and make sure your Freedom OR Freedom FLEX card is showing in top left.
3. Click “Your Dashboard”
4. You should see a section on the right titled “Your current 5% cash back earnings”. If you see you have reached $75 (5% of $1500) then you have hit the $1500 and should switch your Amazon payment method.
5. If you are not yet at $75, keep going till June 30th and then switch your payment method back after June 30th.
