You may be hesitant to take advantage of certain bonus offers because you have recently applied for one or more cards with other bonus offers. Many times, it is wise to wait, especially since you may have trouble meeting the minimum spend requirements on multiple offers, not to mention the numerous credit inquiries you will be subject to (new credit applications make-up 10% of your credit score). But if the offer is something you feel you cannot pass up and you already have a decent credit score, than go for it. I do, and it works better when the applications are spread over you and your spouse/partner.
There have been two instances (which I can recall), where Rob and I racked up a ton of sign-up bonus points and miles in a short period of time. The first time was back in 2014 when we got cards that yielded us 245,000 points and miles. Just recently, we got cards that will provide us with about 250,000 points and miles.
So go ahead and apply and don’t forget, if you do not get approved right away, you can always call and just ask to move some of your existing credit around, provided you have other cards from the same bank. You can read more about this strategy here.
