I am a Hilton Honors Diamond Member thanks to my Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card. As a Diamond member, I get a lot of benefits at Hilton properties. One such benefit is an upgrade, if available, up to a 1 bedroom suite.
It used to be, I would learn if this upgrade was available upon check in. However, starting this month, I will receive early confirmation, 3 days before my stay if I got an upgrade. Gold members will be entitled to this new benefit as well.
However, it is still unclear as to the order of preference as to who gets the upgraded rooms based on availability. I would expect Lifetime members to come before me and I should come before Gold. But there is also some confusion as to members booking high end stays on points and where they fall in the queue.
Regardless, I have a few Hilton stays coming up. One this Xmas in Panama City and another next June in Iceland. Let’s see if I am a beneficiary of this new upgrade feature! I sure hope so!
