Just like school has again begun, so has the Bar and Bat Mitzvah season.  Daniel is at the end of his season and Jessie and Mason are just starting theirs.

Throwing a Bat or Bat Mitzvah is a great way to rack up points and miles on your spending.  After all, do you know what it costs to throw a Bar/Bat Mitzvah?  I don’t know exactly how much because we went to Israel, we did not have a party.  But I know it is a substantial amount and therefore a great rewards earning opportunity.

Do not write a check to any vendor without asking them if they take credit cards.  They likely do.  If they charge a fee, weigh the amount of points/miles you will earn on the charge against the fee.   It may still be worth it to use the card.

A friend recently told me she is considering having her twins Bat Mitzvah at a Marriott by us.  She is leaning towards this with the knowledge that if she pays for her party with her Chase Marriott Rewards Premier credit card, she will earn a substantial amount of  Marriott Rewards points.  She is correct!  She should earn 5 points for every $1 spent at the hotel using her card to pay for the party.  Smart!

A huge shout out to CINDY GREENSTEIN, aka The Points Mom, for helping me book our flights to Greece using points. Money wise it would have cost $12k. I learned so much from her! Contact her. You will not be disappointed.
