In November, I had the opportunity to speak at two engaging events: one in Peekskill, New York, and the other in the heart of Manhattan at Hudson Yards. These experiences allowed me to connect with diverse audiences and share my expertise in rewards cards and travel strategies.
The first event was at the Peekskill Rotary Club, a local group comprised of about 30 attendees, including men, women, and small business owners from the community. During my 15-minute presentation, I focused on explaining why flexible rewards cards are often more valuable than airline and hotel loyalty cards, particularly for those seeking versatility in redeeming their rewards. The audience was highly engaged, asking a lot of thoughtful questions afterward. To add a fun touch, I hosted my signature Dunkin’ raffle, where one lucky winner walked away with a prize—bringing some extra excitement to the room!
The second event was at Hudson Yards, a breathtaking venue on the 51st floor of a luxury building with sweeping skyline views of Manhattan. About 80 professional women attended this session, and I had the privilege of co-presenting with the founder of NextTribe, an organization that organizes trips for single women aged 45 and above. I tailored my presentation to this dynamic audience, detailing how my consulting services work and demonstrating how I help people maximize the value of their credit card rewards.
Given the NYC setting, the audience showed a particular interest in the Bilt card, which is highly relevant for renters, allowing them to earn rewards on rent payments. There were numerous questions about which card is the “best,” and I emphasized that the answer varies based on individual spending habits and goals. To end on a high note, I hosted a double Dunkin’ raffle—with two lucky winners this time, given the size of the group. The energy and enthusiasm in the room made it a truly memorable event.
Both experiences reinforced my passion for educating people on the value of rewards strategies while allowing me to connect with audiences from different walks of life. Each event was unique, but both were incredibly rewarding!
