With American AAdvantage Milesyour AAdvantage miles expire after 24 months of inactivity. Your miles also will not expire if you are the primary holder of an open AAdvantage credit card account associated with your AAdvantage account. As for activity, it can be accomplished in a variety of ways.  In fact, read here about the time I ordered magazine subscriptions so that my kids’ American AAdvantage accounts would not expire.

However, now I wont have to worry for awhile about my kids miles expiring.

AAdvantage made a change and now members under age 21 will be exempt from mileage expiration.  The 18 month expiration clock will begin on the day the member turns 21.

A huge shout out to CINDY GREENSTEIN, aka The Points Mom, for helping me book our flights to Greece using points. Money wise it would have cost $12k. I learned so much from her! Contact her. You will not be disappointed.
