Points that you earn using most of your Citi ThankYou Rewards credit cards do not expire.
However, purchased points expire one (1) year from the end of the year in which you purchased them: for example, Points purchased on September 14, 2015, will expire December 31, 2016. Also, shared points expire 90 days after the date you or another Member shared them – for example, Points shared on January 15, 2016, will expire April 15, 2016. This rule is likely in place so that members share their points so that another member can take advantage of a specific point redemption.
If you have Points that expire, when you redeem your Points for a Reward, Citi will deduct the Points with the earliest expiration date first from your ThankYou Account
