If you you have an American Express Card that earns Membership Rewards points, you may want to see if you were targeted for this Amazon offer.
Amex has a targeted offer where you can earn 4x ADDITIONAL Membership Rewards points on your Amazon purchases through 12/31. This sounds good until you learn the cap that you can earn is just 1500 Amex points.
But, if you want to, on the next $375 you spend on Amazon (in total not one lump sum), you can essentially earn 1875 Amex points (375 on the purchases plus 4 x 375). I had this offer attached to my Amex Platinum card, but it has been reported that it is attaching to other Amex cards too. I signed up for it, why not!
AND IT GETS A LITTLE BETTER! If you have it on your card, your additional cardholders will have it on their additional cards too. So after I spend $375 with my Platinum, I will throw Rob’s number on to Amazon for another $375 and then the kids’ additional Platinums. (I have 3 additional Platinums for the $175 total). I will try to make sure I spend $375 (per 4 cards) from now till 12/31. Yes, a little bit of maneuvering and work, but just a few minutes of time.
The above is a good example as to why your additional cardholders should have their own Amex log ins with their additional cards. They get targeted for offers too!
You need to log in to Amex and go to each of your Membership Rewards cards and see if you have this offer.
You then need to ADD THE OFFER TO YOUR TARGETED CARD.
Then go to Amazon and switch your payment method to the targeted Amex card.
Once you hit the $375, switch it back to your card that you should have on Amazon.
