We have “done” Hershey Park a few times and each time we have stayed at different places.  We have paid for a stay at the fancy Hershey Hotel and we have also paid for a stay at Hershey’s other hotel, the Hershey Lodge.  The Hershey Hotel is great and luxurious and the Lodge is also nice but a little more laid back than the Hotel.

In each of the above stays, we were there for 2 nights.  Each stay had one thing in common—–we barely spent any time at the hotel.  Maybe if we would have gone for a longer period of time, we would have used more of each hotel’s amenities.  But instead, we were in the park from early in the morning to the fireworks at the end of the night.  (My kids are very into amusement parks!!)

Picture 5178 taken on 2009 07 04 204812When I was planning our third trip to Hershey a few summers ago, I smartened up knowing how little time we actually spent at the hotel.  For that trip, we stayed at the Sheraton Harrisburg Hershey Hotel.  This resort is a Starwood Resort and a SPG Category 3.   It was a mere 7000 Starpoints per night to book a room at this hotel.  The room would have cost us about $180 per night.  We stayed 2 nights so we saved about $360.

And yes the hotel was a little less convenient, and yes the elevators took a really long time and yes the hotel was not as nice as the Hershey Hotel or Hershey Lodge, BUT we just needed a decent place to sleep, and that it was.  And it was free!!!!!

A huge shout out to CINDY GREENSTEIN, aka The Points Mom, for helping me book our flights to Greece using points. Money wise it would have cost $12k. I learned so much from her! Contact her. You will not be disappointed.
