Hilton just unveiled a new brand of hotel, Tru by Hilton.  According to Hilton, it is  “a brand that is simplified, spirited and grounded in value, filling a massive void in the midscale category in the U.S. and Canada.”

Hilton already has 102 hotels signed and there are an additional 30 hotels in various stages of approval in cities including Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Denver, Portland and Nashville.

According to Hilton, some of Tru by Hilton’s features include:

The Hive- aka the lobby, but The Hive is a big area of open space with ways for guests to engage with others or spend time alone.  There are four distinct zones in The Hive-zones for for lounging, working, eating or playing.

The Play Zone- a room filled with table games, a large-screen TV (featuring DIRECTV), and stadium seating.

A centrally located Command Center – like the front desk but with a social media wall with real-time content to foster engagement among guests, and 24/7 market offering  snacks and refreshments, single-serve wine and beer, healthy light meal options and sundries for purchase.
