1. Explorist members-they are eligible for instant AAdvantage Platinum status. To keep the status after the initial 4 month period, they must earn at least 25,000 Loyalty Points within four months of registering to extend the AAdvantage Platinum status.
2. Globalist members- they are eligible for instant AAdvantage Platinum Pro status. To keep the status after the inital 4 month period, they must earn at least 42,000 Loyalty Points within four months of registering to extend AAdvantage Platinum Pro. I can attest to the “instant” as I registered the night of November 28th and was Platinum Pro in my American AAdvantage account the next morning.
3, Know that Explorist or Globalist members become AAdvantage Executive Platinum members (highest status) if they earn 67,000 Loyalty Points within four months of registering.
To take advantage of the challenge, you must link your Hyatt and American loyalty accounts by Dec. 12, if you haven’t already. Then, you must register for American’s Instant Status Pass by Dec. 28 in your American Airlines account.
If you had already linked your World of Hyatt account and have Explorist or Globalist status, you’ll see a place to register for Instant Status Pass like I did.
My (undecided) plan…
I am still undecided whether I will reallocate some spending to one of my American Airline AAdvantage cards to earn enough Loyalty Points to extend the status.
I happened to have recently put a big charge on one of the American Airlines cards just to get me to Gold Status for 2023 which will now actually count towards the 42,000 I need to earn in these first 4 months. So maybe I will extend it at least 1x.
I am currently flying American in March which will be covered under my initial status period and then again in April which would only be covered if I extend it.
Still contemplating all of this and what I will ultimately do. Happy to hear any thoughts! 🙂
