As a member of the World Of Hyatt program, you can EARN World Of Hyatt points. You can then USE these points for free travel.  As a member of the program, you also have the opportunity to gain World Of Hyatt Elite Status by paying for stays at Hyatt Properties or by having a Chase Hyatt Visa Card.  Elite status offers additional membership perks and benefits.

Hyatt has properties worldwide, including Park Hyatt, Andaz, Grand Hyatt, Hyatt, Hyatt Regency, Hyatt Place, Hyatt House, Miraval and most recently Small Luxury Hotels of the World and Thompson and Alila. Hyatt divides its hotels into ascending tiers, in their case eight, with the more budget-friendly, full-service hotels in Categories 1 and 2 and the top-shelf luxury hotels in Categories 7 and 8.  The Hotel Category determines the number of points required for a complimentary night.
