Heading to Paris after Amsterdam.  Shhh, remember I told you that you can book Marriott hotel reservations on points even if, at the time of booking, you do not have the required number of points to fulfill the reservation. You only need to have the points in your account with enough time to order an e-certificate for the reservation?  Well I took advantage of this.  In each of Rob and my Marriott Rewards accounts, I booked us 5 nights at the Renaissance Paris Vendome Hotel.  The hotel is a Category 9 property so each room requires 180,000 for the 5 nights (45,000 per night) and the fifth night is free.  The rooms would have cost $446 per night and there would have been no free fifth night if we have to pay.  Booking with points saved us $4,460. (446 X 2 rooms X 5 nights).

I am in the process of accumulating Marriott points.  Will post again when I actually redeem the points for the e-certificates.  I have about 9 months to accomplish this!

A huge shout out to CINDY GREENSTEIN, aka The Points Mom, for helping me book our flights to Greece using points. Money wise it would have cost $12k. I learned so much from her! Contact her. You will not be disappointed.
