About the card…The $250 fee is NOT waived the first year. You earn 3 miles per $1 spent on Delta airline tickets and other Delta purchases. You earn 3x miles on hotel stays (directly purchased, so no intermediary) and 2x miles at restaurants and supermarkets. You earn 1 mile for every dollar you spend on all your other purchases.
If in any calendar year, if you spend $25,000 or more on the card, you will be awarded 10,000 Medallion Qualification Miles (MQMs) and if in that same calendar year you spend $50,000 or more, you will be awarded an additional 10,000 MQMs. (Rob got Silver status last year taking advantage of this and the MQD waiver). The card has a MQD waiver that indicates that the MQDs requirement for Silver, Gold and Platinum status will be waived if you make $25,000 or more in eligible purchases in that year with your card.
You Pay no foreign transaction fees when you use your card on purchases made outside the United States. You get up to $100 as a statement credit every 4 years as reimbursement for the application fee for either program when charged to your Card.
Upon renewing your card, you get a Companion Certificate valid for one round-trip Main Cabin ticket with the purchase of a round-trip fare (and taxes and fees) within the 48 contiguous United States.
