The usual sign up bonus for the Citi ThankYou Premier Card is to earn 60,000 bonus ThankYou Rewards Points after you spend $4,000 in purchases with your card within the first 3 months of account opening. But for a limited time you can earn 80,000 ThankYou Rewards Points.
With the card, there is a $95 annual fee. You earn 3x ThankYou Points per $1 at supermarkets, restaurants, air travel, hotels and gas stations and earn 1X ThankYou Points on other purchases.
There are no foreign transaction fees when you use your card on purchases made outside the United States.
Citi has an online travel booking tool available where you can redeem your points for travel. You can redeem for flights, hotels, cars, travel packages and activities. Also if you are short on points, you can use your Citi Card and your ThankYou Points together to pay and redeem for all travel available through the online booking tool. One Citi ThankYou point equals $0.01 incremental value on travel. For example, a $500 travel purchase, will cost you 50,000 ThankYou points.
And, you can transfer points to participating frequent travel programs with no transfer fees. Most points transfer at full 1:1 value – that means 1000 ThankYou points equal 1000 partner miles/points. The participating Travel Loyalty Programs include JetBlue TrueBlue, Virgin Atlantic Flying Club, and a bunch of others.
