Rob and I in the Blue Grotto, a sea cave on the coast of the island of Capri. Last year, we took advantage of a similar Delta offer and used our miles for business class tickets to Italy with a savings of $7,200!

There are LIMITED TIME VERY HIGH BONUS OFFERS right now for the American Express Gold Delta SkyMiles Card (and the business one) and the American Express Platinum Delta SkyMiles Card (and the business one).

Normally, I would jump at these offers but, unfortunately, I won’t right now.  Years ago I got the Gold card and last year Rob and I both got the Platinum card and used our big influx of bonus miles towards business class tickets to Italy with a savings of $7,200.  Then last fall, when the offers were increased again, Rob and I both got the Amex Gold Delta business cards.  I guess I could have us go for the Platinum business cards, but will wait this one out as we have gotten a bunch of new cards already this year (and it’s only March) like the Chase Hyatt Card, the Citi/AAdvantage Platinum Select World Elite MasterCard and just last night, Rob got the Amex SPG Business card.  Amex offers these increased bonuses a few times a year for these cards, so maybe I will act the next go around.  Also FYI-American Express does not let you get a second sign-up bonus for a card that you have already had at any point in your lifetime-Boo!

But loyal Points Mom followers, you may be able to take advantage of one of these offers if you have not had these cards in the past.  The increased offers are available thru April 11, 2018 and the details of each offer are as follows:

Gold Delta Card (and the Gold Delta Business Card)60,000 SKYMILES AND $50 STATEMENT CREDITEarn 50,000 Bonus Miles after you spend $2,000 in purchases with your new Card within the first 3 months and a $50 statement credit after you make a Delta purchase with your new Card within your first 3 months. Plus, earn an additional 10,000 bonus miles after you make an additional $1,000 in purchases within your first 6 months.  (standard offer-30,000 SkyMiles after $1k in spend).  There is a $0 introductory annual fee for the card the first year, then $95.

Platinum Delta Card (and the Platinum Delta Business Card)70,000 SKYMILES AND $100 STATEMENT CREDIT-Earn 70,000 Bonus Miles and 10,000 Medallion Qualification Miles (MQMs) after you spend $3,000 in purchases on your new Card in your first 3 months. In addition, earn a $100 statement credit after you make a Delta purchase with your new Card within your first 3 months. (standard offer-35,000 SkyMiles and 5,000 MQMs after $1k in spend).  The $195 fee is NOT waived the first year.

Last year around this time there were increased offers of 50,000 miles and 60,000 miles respectively  Rob and I each received 60,000 Delta SkyMiles when we got the Platinum cards. This year, each offer is 10,000 miles more!

BOTH OFFERS EXPIRE APRIL 11, 2018.

Don’t forget, with the cards, you earn 2 miles per $1 spent on Delta airline tickets and 1 mile for every dollar you spend on all your other purchases.  There are no foreign transaction fees with the cards.  In addition, the basic card member and up to 8 people traveling on the same itinerary, may check their first bag for free on all Delta and Delta Connection flights

With the Platinum card, in any calendar year you spend $25,000 or more on the card, you will be awarded 10,000 bonus SkyMiles and 10,000 Medallion Qualification Miles.  If in that same calendar year you spend $50,000 or more, you will be awarded an additional 10,000 bonus SkyMiles and 10,000 MQMs. Also, upon renewing your card, you get a Companion Certificate.

A huge shout out to CINDY GREENSTEIN, aka The Points Mom, for helping me book our flights to Greece using points. Money wise it would have cost $12k. I learned so much from her! Contact her. You will not be disappointed.
