I Just Transferred 5,000 World Of Hyatt Points To Delta To Keep My Points From Expiring

I have had a 17,000 World Of Hyatt point balance for a long time.  My last Hyatt activity was back in December of 2015, when I took my daughter, Jessie, to North Carolina for a swim meet and we stayed at a Hyatt Place.

I got a notice that my Hyatt points were due to expire on December 14 of this year, 24 months after my last activity.  Not having another Hyatt stay before that, (and I don’t have the Hyatt credit card anymore although I used to), I knew I needed to do something to keep the 17K points from expiring.  Luckily, World Of Hyatt offers members a bunch of ways in which they can keep their points from expiring and I took advantage of the one that states…..”converting World Of Hyatt points to miles in a Travel Partner program“.

Although I needed to transfer a minimum of 5,000 points and the conversion rate was less than favorable (2,000 airline miles for 5,000 World Of Hyatt points), I converted 5,000 World Of Hyatt Points to 2,000 Delta SKyMiles.  It is better than letting my points expire.

I have stay at the Andaz in Amsterdam coming up this December so my new 24 month clock will begin again then.

A huge shout out to CINDY GREENSTEIN, aka The Points Mom, for helping me book our flights to Greece using points. Money wise it would have cost $12k. I learned so much from her! Contact her. You will not be disappointed.
