The points that you earn with the card are Southwest Rapid Rewards points, which you can use for free travel.
Don’t forget, with the card, you earn 2 miles per $1 spent on airline tickets and with Rapid Rewards Hotel and Car Rental Partners and 1 mile per $1 spent on all other purchases made with your card. Also you receive 6,000 points after your cardmember anniversary with the Premier card and 3,000 points after your cardmember anniversary with the Plus card. With the Premier card, there are no foreign transaction fees.
A very nice feature with Southwest Rapid Rewards is the ability to earn a Companion Pass. If you earn 110,000 Companion Pass Qualifying Points in a calendar year, you earn a companion pass.
