The usual sign-up offers for the Chase  Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards Premier Card and the Chase Southwest Rapid Rewards Plus Card is to earn 40,000 Rapid Rewards BONUS POINTS.  Now, for a limited time, these bonus offers have been increased to 50,000 bonus points if you spend $2,000 in the first 3 months.  Note, unlike with some other bonus offers, the $99/$69 annual fee is not waived the first year.

The points that you earn with the card are Southwest Rapid Rewards points, which you can use for free travel.

Don’t forget, with the card, you earn 2 miles per $1 spent on airline tickets and with  Rapid Rewards Hotel and Car Rental Partners and 1 mile per $1 spent on all other purchases made with your card.  Also you receive 6,000 points after your cardmember anniversary with the Premier card and 3,000 points after your cardmember anniversary with the Plus card.  With the Premier card, there are no foreign transaction fees.

A very nice feature with Southwest Rapid Rewards is the ability to earn a Companion Pass. If you earn 110,000 Companion Pass Qualifying Points in a calendar year, you earn a companion pass.  By getting one of these cards (or both? ), you have a big influx to start you on the way.  You can earn the rest of the points by purchasing flights, using your Chase Southwest Rapid Rewards Premier Card and from shopping with Rapid Rewards Partners  The Companion Pass allows you to designate someone to fly with you on Southwest Airlines flights EVERY TIME that you purchase a ticket whether purchasing a ticket with dollars or points

Lastly, Southwest Airlines is a Chase Ultimate Rewards transfer partner.

Note, the Chase Southwest Visa cards are subject to Chase’s 5/24 rule, so be mindful of this when you apply.

A huge shout out to CINDY GREENSTEIN, aka The Points Mom, for helping me book our flights to Greece using points. Money wise it would have cost $12k. I learned so much from her! Contact her. You will not be disappointed.
