The usual sign-up offer for the Chase IHG Rewards Club Select Credit Card is to earn 60,000 BONUS POINTS after you spend $1,000 on purchases in the first 3 months of account opening. But for a limited time, this initial sign-up bonus has increased to 80,000 BONUS POINTS for the same minimum spend of $1,000. There is a $0 introductory annual fee for the card the first year, then $49. As with most Chase cards, you earn and extra 5,000 Bonus Points when you add your first authorized user and make your first purchase in the first three months from account opening.
The points that you earn are Intercontinental Hotel Group “IHG” Rewards Club points, which you can use for free travel. We have used IHG Rewards points to book a free stay in Vegas at the Palazzo hotel (the sister of the Venetian which is also an IHG property). and another night at the Intercontinental Hotel in Boston.
Don’t forget, with the card, you earn 5 points per $1 spent at all hotels within the Intercontinental Hotel Group (IHG), 2 points per $1 spent at restaurants, gas and groceries and 1 point per $1 spent on all other purchases made with your card. Also you receive 1 free night every year after your cardmember anniversary and there are no foreign transaction fees. We have used these free anniversary nights in Boston last year and this year.
I got this card a few years back, with a 70,000 point bonus, this 80,000 is the highest bonus I can remember for this card. If I didn’t already have it, I wouldn’t be able to pass this one up.
