Make Sure You Select An Earning Style In Your Hilton Honors Profile Or You Lose Valuable Rewards

Another lesson I learned the hard way…I was expecting Rob to earn 15 Hilton HHonors points on our hotel incidentals from our recent trip to Philly (we stayed for free on Hilton HHonors points), but he only earned 10 points per $1.  When I called to inquire, Hilton told me that there was no Earning Style Option selected in his account and therefore there was to be no “extra earning”.

Sure enough, the terms are quite clear…

“If a Member does not select an Earning Style Option in his or her HHonors profile, such Member will automatically earn only 10 HHonors Base Points per eligible U.S. dollar spent.”

Don’t make the same mistake we did.  Make sure you go to your Hilton HHonors profile and choose and earning style option.  Note, you can change your Earning Style Option at any time.

A huge shout out to CINDY GREENSTEIN, aka The Points Mom, for helping me book our flights to Greece using points. Money wise it would have cost $12k. I learned so much from her! Contact her. You will not be disappointed.
