The usual sign up bonus that comes with the Chase IHG Rewards Club Premier card is to EARN 80,000 BONUS IHG REWARDS POINTS after you spend $2,000 on purchases in the first 3 months of account opening. But now the bonus is increased to 125,000 bonus points. You can earn 125,000 bonus points after spending $3,000 on purchases in the first 3 monthsjumps to associated footnote from account opening.
To sweeten the deal even more, you can earn an 25x points when you use your card at IHG Resorts for the first 12 months. After 12 months, you will earn the standard 10x points on IHG charges. Note, if you combine this 25x that you will get with the card the first year with the 10x points on stays that all members get, regardless of payment method, and the 50% bonus on that 10x for being an IHG Platinum member (which you are with the card), you are essentially earning 40X points when you stay at an IHG resort the first year.
And wow, to make it even better, you can earn 4X points on all other purchases for the first 12 months from account opening. After that, it goes back to the standard 2 points per $1 spent at restaurants, gas and groceries and 1 point per $1 spent on all other purchases made with your card.
Before you apply, make sure your ability to get the sign-up bonus is not limited by Chase restrictions on an additional sign-up bonus or the Chase 5/24 rule.
The card has an $89 Annual Fee, not waived the first year. You receive 1 free night every year after your cardmember anniversary redeemable at properties up to 40,000 IHG Rewards points. You pay no foreign transaction fees when you use your card on purchases made outside the United States. You get a Global Entry or TSA Pre✓ of up to $100 every 4 years as reimbursement for the application fee charged to your Card. As indicated above, you get IHG Platinum Elite Status with the card. Further, for each standard room reward night stay of 4 or more nights, every 4th night is free. Finally, you’ll receive 10,000 bonus points each account anniversary year during which at least $20,000 is spent, and one additional purchase is made at least one day after you have spent $20,000.
