MOST OF THE TIME, Marriott Bonvoy will allow you to book hotel reservations on points even if, at the time of booking, you do not have the required number of points to fulfill the reservation. They call it a “Points Advance”. It used to be a lot better but now, you need to have the points in your account within 60 days from the time of booking or 14 days prior to arrival, whatever comes first. If you do not have the points in your account by this time, your reservation will be canceled. Also, you will not be able to use the Points Advance feature if you are within 30 days of your arrival date.
Important things to note…
-You will only be permitted a maximum of three Points Advance reservations at any time.
–The amount of Points required to finalize the reservation may change between the time of booking and the time that Points are deducted.
