Our December Weekend At Woodloch Pines

ImageWe just returned from our weekend at Woodloch Pines in Hawley, PA, in celebration of my parents 50th anniversary.  We spent the weekend participating in a lot of the Woodloch activities such as horse racing (remember they gave me a “cash advance”), bingo, hiking, go carts, EATING, and enjoying the nightly entertainment.  We were there during what starts their Xmas season, so we also had the opportunity to see their Festival of Lights by hayride.  This was a highlight of the weekend!  It was great.

We had a really nice one bedroom suite which was perfect for my family.  We were not in the main hotel, but one building away and a mere 2 minute walk along the beautiful lake.  We had the same table and same wait person at every meal.  The food was great despite how many times we ate.  We got breakfast, lunch and dinner–too much!  In hindsight, we could have skipped the lunch.  Oh well.  I will regroup tomorrow!

Woodloch is a great place to visit with your extended family as there is so much to do for every age and interest and the staff and hotel cater to large groups and families.  There are families that return year after year.  Unfortunately though, it is not a resort that can be paid with using points.  Upon check-out, I paid with my Chase Sapphire Preferred card as we get 2x Chase Ultimate Rewards points on hotel stays.  And now, with Rob just getting the Chase Ink Plus, I am excited to start accumulating Ultimate Rewards points again.  Still loving my Chase Sapphire Preferred!

A huge shout out to CINDY GREENSTEIN, aka The Points Mom, for helping me book our flights to Greece using points. Money wise it would have cost $12k. I learned so much from her! Contact her. You will not be disappointed.
