Mason thought it was really weird to take a picture at the Identogo office, so he would not get in. 🙂

Yesterday. my family and I went to our TSA Pre√ appointment.  We went to the West 35th street Identogo location in the city.  (Remember, on a whim, we slept for free in the city the night before).

We had 11:30 appointment for 3 members of my family and 11:45 for the other 2.  They took us all at 11:35.  We had to split up into 2 rooms, Rob took 2 kids and I took 1.  We had to give them our passports.  Then we were asked to verify some personal information, like name, address, etc.  Then we were fingerprinted with an electronic! finger-print machine.  I believe the last time I was fingerprinted was to practice law in New York and I left there with ink all over my fingers.  (Yes, I was a lawyer at one time long ago).  Then we were asked to pay the $85 dollar fee.  Then we left.

The whole process took about 15 minutes and could not have been any easier or pleasant.  We now await our Known Traveler Numbers (KTNs) in the mail which should arrive in about 2 weeks.  We are not traveling till December anyway, when we go to Hawaii, so we have plenty of time to play with.

Most importantly, can you guess which credit card I used to pay for the $85 fees?  If you guessed my American Express Platinum card, then you guessed correctly.  This is because with the card, you receive one Global Entry ($100) statement credit or one TSA Pre✓ ($85) statement credit every 5 years for an application fee charged to your Platinum Card.  It was just one $85 fee, but definitely better than none!

A huge shout out to CINDY GREENSTEIN, aka The Points Mom, for helping me book our flights to Greece using points. Money wise it would have cost $12k. I learned so much from her! Contact her. You will not be disappointed.
