I made a rookie mistake and let Barclays cancel my AAdvantage Aviator Red World Elite MasterCard because I had 24 months of inactivity. I tell all of my clients to keep a small monthly charge on all of their no fee cards that sit in a drawer, or to remember to use them every so often. I didn’t do either one of those things. Luckily, the credit line had been moved to my Barclaycard Arrival Card and I only lost a $1000 credit line. Also, this card wasn’t that old, I got it in 2017, so it will not affect my credit score that much (it is worse to lose an older card). Still, I should know better!
