Hi, I don’t often send emails about bonus offers unless I think the offer is just too good not to share. This is one of those times.

The Chase Sapphire PREFERRED and RESERVE bonuses were just raised to 75K from 60K for a limited time (not sure for how long, but I do get notice before the bonus goes back down).

The Sapphire PREFERRED card is $95 per year. To get the bonus, you need to spend $4k in 3 months. Click here to read more about the Sapphire Preferred card.

The Sapphire RESERVE card is $550 per year, but you get an automatic $300 travel credit.  To get the bonus, you need to spend $4k in 3 months. Click here to read more about the Sapphire Reserve card.

Who should apply?

Current Sapphire cardholders who are married: For those of you who already have a Sapphire, consider having your spouse apply for an easy extra 75k points. Remember, Chase allows cardholders to combine their points with one other member of their household.

Cardholders of other Chase cards: For those of you with other Chase cards (either Freedom or Ink cash back cards), a Sapphire is a nice addition as it makes your cashback points way more flexible and valuable in that you can move your cashback points to the Sapphire bucket.

Older kids that have established credit: Many of your kids got cards while in college and have hopefully built up a decent credit score. Despite the $95 fee, this is a VERY NICE starter card for those kids who want to earn rewards for travel. It is especially valuable for those kids who already have a no-fee Freedom Unlimited, which I know many do.

Anyone who wants a great points starter card: This is a low fee travel rewards card earning very valuable and flexible points. It is a fantastic card to start with if you want to get involved with points and miles.

As for all of the points you will earn from the bonus and the spending on the card(s), once they sit in a Sapphire bucket, you can do 2 things with them. You can redeem them at 1.25 cents per point (Sapphire PREFERRED) or 1.5 cents per point (Sapphire RESERVE) through Chase Travel (with cash back, you redeem at 1 cent per point), or you can transfer them to Chase Travel partners at 1:1.

Right now the Chase travel partners are Aer Lingus AerClub, Air Canada Aeroplan, Air France-KLM Flying Blue, British Airways Executive Club, Emirates Skywards, Iberia Plus, JetBlue TrueBlue, Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer, Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards, United MileagePlus, Virgin Atlantic Flying Club, IHG Rewards Club, Marriott Bonvoy, World of Hyatt. There are sporadic transfer bonuses throughout the year.

If you do apply, can you please use my links which are here.

For those of you who already have Freedoms or other Chase cards, if you apply and get a pending decision and need to call the reconsideration line, offer to move credit from your existing Chase cards to the new Sapphire. You just want the card with the fantastic bonus, any extra credit line should be secondary! Here are the Chase reconsideration lines. Chase-888-609-7805 or 888-270-2127

Tell me if you get a card, and I will update my notes for you (if you are my client) or add you to my list of cardholders and alert you to offers, tips, and changes regarding the card. Also, I will help you combine your points from your other Chase cards if you need that, too.

Also, reach out with any individual questions.

A huge shout out to CINDY GREENSTEIN, aka The Points Mom, for helping me book our flights to Greece using points. Money wise it would have cost $12k. I learned so much from her! Contact her. You will not be disappointed.
