When you transfer United MileagePlus miles to another, you pay less per mile transferred with the more miles you transfer.  For example, if you transfer 1,000 miles, the cost will be $.055 per mile, while transferring 25,000 miles will cost $.0166 per mile.  Any amounts in between cost somewhere within that range.

Note, there is a processing fee per transaction of $30 and there is a limit of transferring 25,000 miles per transaction.  Miles can be transferred in 500 mile increments between 500 and 5,000 miles, and in 1,000 mile increments from 5,000 to 25,000 miles.

The most you can transfer out of your account to another account is 100,000 miles per calendar year.  In addition, no recipient may receive more than 100,000 miles from any MileagePlus accounts in any calendar year.

A huge shout out to CINDY GREENSTEIN, aka The Points Mom, for helping me book our flights to Greece using points. Money wise it would have cost $12k. I learned so much from her! Contact her. You will not be disappointed.
