Sometimes, a points redemption is so good it feels almost criminal. That’s exactly how I feel about the insane deal I locked in for Rob’s birthday weekend in April at Miraval Berkshires—one of Hyatt’s top-tier all-inclusive wellness resorts.
Here’s the breakdown: I booked a two-night stay for 65,000 Hyatt points per night, and the total cash value of the stay? $4,003. That means I got over 3 cents per point in value, which is an incredible redemption—especially for a luxury, all-inclusive experience.
Why This Deal is So Good
Miraval Resorts are different from standard Hyatt redemptions because they operate on an all-inclusive model. This means that when you book on points, you get access to everything that’s included in their pricey cash rates: ✅ A daily schedule of outdoor adventures, yoga, meditation, fitness classes, and wellness lectures—many of which are complimentary.
✅ All meals, snacks, smoothies, specialty coffee drinks, and non-alcoholic beverages are included. ✅ Luxury accommodations at a stunning resort designed for relaxation and renewal.
The Crucial Booking Tip: Always Add the Correct Number of Guests
Here’s where I almost made a mistake—one that I often make when booking on points. When reserving award stays, I tend to leave the default guest count at one person out of pure laziness. But at Miraval, that can cost you.
For one guest, the award rate was 45,000 points per night. However, when I added Rob as a second guest, the rate went up to 65,000 points per night—which makes sense because Miraval’s pricing is per person, not per room. If I had forgotten to update the guest count, we would have been charged extra at check-in, or worse, he might not have been included in the all-inclusive package! Lesson learned.

No Resort Fee on Award Stays—Despite What Your Hyatt Account Says
When I first booked, I saw a note in my Hyatt account under my reservation stating: “RESORT FEE: A daily 25% resort fee will be applied to your package rate.” That initially made me pause because I wouldn’t have considered this such an amazing deal if I had to pay 25% on the full cash rate.
So, I called Miraval to clarify, and they confirmed that award stays at Miraval do NOT get charged the 25% resort fee. This was a huge relief and made the redemption even sweeter!
How I Earned My Hyatt Points So Easily
I always make sure I have plenty of Hyatt points on hand by strategically earning transferable rewards.
1️⃣ Chase Ultimate Rewards – I earn tons of Chase points via the Chase Sapphire Preferred (2x on travel, 3x on dining) and Chase Ink Business cards (5x on office supplies, internet, phone, etc.). These transfer 1:1 to Hyatt, making them incredibly valuable.
2️⃣ Bilt Rewards – I also stack points from paying rent with my Bilt card (earning 1x on rent, 2x on travel, and 3x on dining). Since Bilt points transfer 1:1 to Hyatt, this is another easy way to keep my Hyatt balance topped up.
Final Thoughts: Miraval is a Must-Book on Points
At 65,000 points per night for two guests, I’m getting a top-tier all-inclusive luxury stay that would have cost over $4,000. That’s an absolute steal in the world of points and miles. If you’re thinking about booking Miraval, make sure to: ✔ Check for available award nights early—these book up fast. ✔ Add the correct number of guests to avoid any headaches at check-in. ✔ Leverage Chase Ultimate Rewards and Bilt transfers to quickly rack up Hyatt points. ✔ Ignore the resort fee warning in your Hyatt account—award stays are not subject to it!
This is one of those redemptions that truly makes you feel like you’ve hacked the system. I can’t wait to experience everything Miraval has to offer—and I’ll be sure to report back on whether it lives up to the hype!
