Three Ways To Make It Easier To Book Using Points And Miles

TPM DefaultIt definitely makes it easier to book travel using points and miles if you can do these 3 things: ????

1. Have a destination in mind and acquire and spend on the right cards to get you there. The sooner you know where you want to go, the earlier you can start on the earning plan to reach your goal. In my mind, I am usually about 2 years ahead about future trips. ????

2. Flexibility is very helpful. I often plan my dates around the time period in which I can nail down a big redemption. I am posting from the Canaves Oia Suites in Santorini where I planned my entire trip around when I was able to secure my 5 night stay on World of Hyatt points. ????????

3. Book early if your can, especially for popular hotels. Using Hyatt again as an example, they open up their bookings about 13 months in advance. Many flights open up 331 days in advance. Know when things open and book early if you can. ????

For all of you that still have kids in school, I know that the flexibility part is near impossible. (Been there). But shoot for the other 2. ????????????

A huge shout out to CINDY GREENSTEIN, aka The Points Mom, for helping me book our flights to Greece using points. Money wise it would have cost $12k. I learned so much from her! Contact her. You will not be disappointed.
