Chase has a limited time offer when you use your Ultimate Rewards points for Apple products.
Chase Sapphire Reserve-From 10/15/2020 – 11/15/2020, each point you redeem for Apple merchandise in the Apple Ultimate Rewards Store is worth $0.0150, which means that 100 points equals $1.50 in redemption value. This is normally the rate you get when you redeem for travel and for groceries through April 30, 2021. If you choose to use points and your Chase Sapphire Reserve credit card to pay for your purchase, your credit card will be charged the full remaining dollar amount. For example, if you choose to buy Apple merchandise at $120 at $1.50 redemption value and pay for half using points, you would use 4,000 points and your credit card would be billed $60.
Same deal with the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card, except you redeem at $0.0125, which means that 100 points equals $1.25 in redemption value.
Normally, I wouldn’t use Chase points for any merchandise because the rate that you get is 1 cents per point. I like to reserve (ha) my Chase points for things I can redeem at the higher redemption rates. But if you are in the market for an Apple produce, yes, it is ok to use your points at these higher rates for the purchase.
