Maybe this is the wave of the future in terms of airline programs getting members and college students making the grades.  It’s a win-win!

The University of Washington has teamed up with the Alaska Airlines MileagePlan program with an offer of elite status in the program for making a benchmark GPA.  Note, that with elite status, you earn additional miles over base every time you fly!  In addition, when a student registers with their University of Washington email address, they receive 5,000 bonus miles.

The elite status incentives are as follows:

Earn a 3.5-3.9 GPA-get 2018 MVP status,

Earn a 4.0-get get MVP Gold.
