  1. You are a United MileagePlus member
  2. Your birthday must be in your MileagePlus profile
  3. You need to book the flight through the United app
  4. It must be for an economy seat
  5. Your reservation can just include the young adult.

The promotion is mainly for tickets within the USA, Canada and Mexico.
